What is the Connection Between Omega 3 and Acne?

By John Collins

Fish oil and some vegetable oils like flax seed and olive oil are rich sources of omega 3 fatty acids. Fish oil contains DHA and EPA; while flax seed oil provides a third essential fatty acid by the name of alpha linolenic acid or ALA. Omega 3 and acne are very much related to each other since omega 3 fats provide relief in skin problems and serve to cure them.

It has been found through various studies that vegetables oils including canola, olive and almond oil are effective for healthy growth of skin and hair. This is because of the presence of omega 3 fatty acids in these oils. Fish oil is also a good treatment for acne and other similar skin conditions.

In addition to the connection of omega 3 and acne, these fats are also important for developing a healthy immune system. These fats along with some enzymes and vitamins in the body prevent many diseases including colon cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Doctors and dermatologists have found that omega 3 and acne are closely related to each other. They recommend people suffering from skin problems including acne, red bumps, pock marks, eczema, whiteheads and blackheads to increase their intake of fish oil capsules and foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids.

Omega 3 fats help to bring back the vitality and glow of the skin. People who regularly take fish oil capsules have reported back that their skin got 100% cleared of all blemishes, spots and pimples in only a few weeks. They are very satisfied with the results of consuming fish oil products.

Vitamin E is required for proper absorption of omega 3 fatty acids by the bloodstream. Because of this reason doctors also advise adding multi-vitamin and vitamin E supplements to everyday diet. Without proper absorption there's no need to keep adding sources of omega 3 fats to diet. Make sure you intake capsules only after 4 to 5 hours gap to ensure proper absorption and digestion of short-chain as well as long-chain fatty acids.

It is important to remember that fish oil may contain certain harmful substances like heavy metals and toxins. Use only high quality nutritional supplements available out there to avoid health complications. It has been found that hoki fish oil products are very effective for long-term health. Oil of hoki fish contains very low levels of heavy metals and is therefore fit for consumption.
